Aloha Aina Oiaio!
Good to see Maui in motion for Kanaloa-Kahoolawe PKO Anniversary. Jeff and Luana Neff and others did a splendid event here on Moku O Keawe at U.H. Hilo on August 6. Some of the original activists were there and gave there mana‘o. Lots of individual musicians and bands played their hearts out. Back up from many volunteers.
I felt very moved at this 20th Aloha ‘Aina event to be part of the anniversary and to see how the voyaging canoe navigators were reconciled with the PKO members. As I write this report it all comes back. The film was historical recall at its best. Informing and stirring
Mahalo Jeff for inviting me to be a vendor there to sell my book: “Wahine Noa: for the life of my country.” In due time I plan to also have my own blog that will focus on generating understanding for Hawaii as a country, beloved to all of us. We keep on keeping on, and I think this 20th anniversary will underline the fact that we are emotional and intelligent beings who take our involvement as a sacred trust. Protect Kahoolawe Ohana, you lit the way. Keep it up. We love you.
Kala mai ia‘u, It’s Craig and Luana Neff, who were the organizers of PKO anniversary event here in Hilo. mahalo Craig.
