Hawaiian Kingdom education system
In the
Star-Bulletin
letters
Derek Kauanoe discusses the Hawaiian Kingdom's educational system (citing the
Civil
Code), in the context of current proposals to localize Hawaii's school
boards, and notes the high level of bilingual literacy that equaled or exceeded
that of European nations at the time.
Also, Keikilani Cox writes that with
regards to the Kamehameha Schools admissions case, being Hawaiian "does not
transfer with an adoption certificate."
