Larsen v. Hawaiian Kingdom DVD: order online
You may have noticed a new link on the right to
the Larsen Case
DVD, and I wanted to draw attention
to this and encourage folks to order a copy, which you can now do online.
From 1999 to 2001, the Permanent Court
of Arbitration (PCA), which is part of the World Court at The Hague,
Netherlands, heard a case involving a Hawaiian national and the
acting
Hawaiian Kingdom government. This was an
important case for establishing a foundation for Hawaii's existence as an
independent state, and gaining exposure for the situation particularly in the
international legal community. Several law journal articles were written about
the case. The DVD package includes a
32-page booklet
detailing the history of the Hawaiian Kingdom as
an independent state and the Larsen arbitration case, a 20 minute
mini-documentary filmed exclusively in The Hague, three PowerPoint
presentations, and copies of all documents filed with the court in PDF
format.See the Larsen v. Hawaiian
Kingdom arbitration website for documents filed, hearing transcripts,
historical background, news items,
etc.And you can download the Arbitral
Award and annexes from the PCA
site.
