Call for Healing and Unity At The 'Iolani Palace July 1Received via
email...
Aloha, A DAY OF HEALING AND UNITY IS BEING CALLED FOR ALL HAWAIIANS, JULY 1, 2006, 9-5 P.M. AT THE 'IOLANI PALACE...THE PUBLIC IS ALSO WELCOME TO ENJOY THE DAY WITH THE HAWAIIAN KINGDOM GOVERNMENT. On June 8, 2006, The Akaka Bill was denied the needed votes to succeed. While the Akaka Bill was denied passage, we were not surprised since Hawai'i still has a treaty with the US and the Larsen case atthe world court was heard where the court did recognize Larsen as a national and not American further barred the Akaka Bill from ever being heard on a federal level. Now, a "new" strategy is being planned with Inouye leading the way. We must now, as Hawaiians be more vigilant on everything he does...watch for the sleight of hands. We are not surprised at this move and pray that they are unsuccessful as well with this effort. On July 1, 2006, The Hawaiian Kingdom Government is hosting a "Call For Healing and Unity" At The 'Iolani Palace with Kingdom Heirs, Kama'aina and Malihini. This kahea is meant for all Hawaiians and their 'ohana to attend this auspicious ocassion that we may begin the healing process, plan for the future and apply those ideas in the months ahead. We are seeking people who are in support of independence for Hawai'i and open to working hard to reach our goals; an independent country with Hawaiians managing and controlling our own assests as we prepare for our children's future and generations ahead. Bring your mats, chairs and 'ohana for a day of music, food and humor...special speakers will include the Head of State, Mahealani Asing and many other leaders from outer islands who are also heirs and their 'ohana will come and share their thoughts about Akaka, Inouye and any subject or issue they want to speak to. We know you will enjoy this day. The day will open with visits to the Kamehameha and Liliuokalani Statues where Ho'okupu will be laid and prayers and chants honoring Ke Akua and our ancestors, followed by gathering and opening of this day will begin at the Gazebo area. A Tent with Food and drinks will be available for na kupuna. For more information call 587-2489. Aloha Ke Akua, Mahealani Asing HKG Posted: Wed - June 14, 2006 at 10:23 AM |
