Federal funds for Native Hawaiians
The Advertiser reports
on the omnibus appropriations bill for fiscal year 2004 that "$33.5 million is
being directed to Native Hawaiian Education. Money also would be made available
to the DOE to repair and renovate public schools with high percentages of Native
Hawaiians."And the Star-Bulletin reports
that the bill includes: "More than $60 million for native Hawaiian social
programs, including almost $3 million for the state's elderly native Hawaiian
population."
