Kamehameha Schools an institution of the Kingdom
In the argument of whether Kamehameha Schools'
admission policy is constitutional, the larger point I think needs to be
remembered is that the trust was set up under the Hawaiian Kingdom (with the
trustees appointed by the Supreme Court of the Hawaiian Kingdom) and the fact
that the U.S. courts even have any say whatsoever over this institution is one
of the consequences of a long history of shameful, fraudulent, unlawful acts of
usurpation and occupation
by which the United States came to claim jurisdiction in Hawaii, that contradict
everything I was taught that America was supposed to stand
for.And I believe the only real
protection the Kamehameha Schools (and other remnants of the Kingdom) might have
is within the legal
order from which they originated.
