Makua Draft EIS Public Meetings

The Makua Military Reservation Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) is available for review, and the Army will be holding public meetings to give the community an opportunity to comment on the document.

Public meeting schedule:

Tuesday, August 23 - Wai`anae District Park (Farrington Highway); 5:30 pm - 10 pm
Thursday, August 25 - Nanaikapono Elementary School (Nanakuli); 5:30 pm - 10 pm
Saturday, August 27 - Wai`anae District Park; 12:30 pm - 6 pm

The the first hour of the meeting is an open house where the public will have the opportunity to discuss the DEIS with subject-matter experts.

Copies of the Draft EIS are available for review at the Hawai`i State Library on S. King Street, the Wahiawa Public Library located on California Avenue, the Pearl City Public Library located on Waimano Home Road, and the Wai`anae Public Library on Farrington Highway. The DEIS may also be reviewed at www.makuaeis.com.

If anyone should desire a hardcopy of the DEIS, Executive Summary or the CD, please send a request to Mr. Gary Shirakata, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, (808) 438-0772 or e-mail Mr. Shirakata at Makua-EIS@poh01.usace.army.mil.
