Military land grabs and messes
In the Star-Bulletin letters
section, Corrine Goldstick says we don't need another military land grab, and
that "military leaders see our whole state as a desirably situated military base
with civilians attached." And Stan Batalona shares thoughts about the beauty and
heritage of Waikane Valley that the marines have destroyed and refuse to clean
up. Meanwhile, Ronald L. Edmiston says that those who seek to protect Hawaiian
land from abuse by the military are "the supporters of Saddam Hussein and Osama
bin Laden here in Hawaii." Yeah right.
