No conditions on Ho'oponopono
When I read Edward Halealoha Ayau's letter in the
Advertiser
on Thursday, I though that the heading the
paper used for his letter did not accurately reflect the letter itself. Today, a
letter
from Hui Malama
Attorney Alan Murakami confirms
this:Contrary to the suggestion of the headline for the letter ("No ho'oponopono if it means exposing reburial"), Ayau's position has nothing to do with his willingness to participate in the Hawaiian cultural-based mediation in which the parties are now poised to participate. Your heading suggests that Ayau will not participate if he's required to divulge the information the court required.
No one can predict where ho'oponopono will lead. No such condition has been imposed on the participants. Ayau supports ho'oponopono unconditionally and looks forward to participating in it, if allowed.
Also,
the
Star-Bulletin's
Kauakukalahale column
in 'olelo has a synopsis that says it is a continuation of last week's story,
"with a comparison of aloha ali'i
evident in the story, with aloha kupuna, evident in Hui Mālama I Nā
Kūpuna O Hawai'i Nei's actions."
