Hawai'i is recognized as its own nation
In the surfing world, at least. Here's an
interesting little tidbit. Yesterday's
Advertiser
had an article
about the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, and notes that
"Hawai'i, which won the team title last year, is one of 27 countries/regions in
the contest. Hawai'i is recognized as its own nation for the event." Well,
that's a start ;o) At this page from the
International Surfing Association website Hawaii is included, along with U.S.A.
and other countries, in the "List of Nations where the ISA has a recognized NGB
(National Governing Bodies)."(h/t to
