UH to host 'authentic Hawaii' conference
University of Hawaii's Travel Industry Management
School and the Historic Hawaii Foundation will offer a two-day conference on
"authentic Hawaii." The conference, called "Grass skirts and palm trees:
Redefining an authentic Hawaii," will address economic development, historic
preservation, tourism and quality of life issues. The event, to be held on May
14 and 15 at the Hawaii Convention Center, is part of the annual statewide
Historic Preservation Conference and features national speakers. For more
