Advertiser supports GMO taro research
In light of a forum at UH on the subject today,
the
Advertiser
weighs
in in favor of allowing continued
genetic modification of taro. They try to say the Hawaiian cultural view about
altering the genetics should be "respected," but in reality ignored.
It isn't just that kalo is "an
important food crop," it is the elder brother Haloa.
