Maui films that will be part of the festival include Kenneth K. Martinez Burgmaier’s "33rd Annual Ukulele Festival" and his film about John Keawe, "Music with the Island Touch." The other Maui film being shown is Jay April and Lou Di Liberto’s "Red Turtle Rising."

In all, 30 films from Hawaii, the Mainland and New Zealand are being shown. The Hawaii films are "An Island Invaded" by Jim Bannan and Esther Figueroa; "The Hawaiians: Reflecting Spirit" by Edgy Lee; "Ipo Lei Manu by Dan Boulos and Sharene Boulos; "Iz – The Man Behind the Music" by Phil Arnone and Rick Blangiardi; "Kamea" by Jennifer Akana-Shurla; and "Mauna Kea: Temple Under Seige" by Puhipau, Joan Lander and Na maka O Ka ’Aina.

Along with a variety of films, a mix of documentaries and features, the festival will offer workshops in hula, ukulele and chanting, a Hawaiian language miniworkshop, and readings and book-signings with noted Hawaiian writers. Napua Davoy’s musical biography, "The Brighter Side of Alzheimer’s, A One-Woman Musical Play," will be presented.

A special presentation by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, including a report on the status of the Akaka Bill, is also on the schedule along with opening and closing night parties featuring food, hula and music.
