Storytelling festival bridges Hawaiians & Calif. Indians
The San Francisco Chronicle has a story on the
storytelling festival about the connection
between Hawaiians and California
Indians, to be held October 18-19 in San
Leandro: "Many California Indians — particularly those who live in the Bay
Area — still believe there is a direct relationship between the natives of
California and Hawaii. That connection will be explored at 'Bridging the
Pacific with Native Voices,' a California Indian Storytelling Association
festival this weekend in San Leandro. Bay Area storytellers like Moore will be
joined by colleagues from Hawaii and Arizona for two days of storytelling,
music, videos and panel discussions about how California Indians and Hawaiians
are connected." More info at the California Indian Storytelling Association
website.
