Senator skewers Akaka bill as divisive
I'm back. I'll get caught up over the next few
days as I can, but here's an article
from today's
Star-Bulletin
about Sen. Kyl's opposition to the Akaka Bill, and efforts by Sens. Akaka and
Inouye to still attach it to other legislative vehicles this year. And OHA
administrator Clyde Namuo said reports that the Akaka bill is dead are
"absolutely false. ... It is very much alive." Kyl says he thinks the Akaka Bill
would be unconstitutional, and I agree, but for a different reason – it
would be unconstitutional because of Article VI Section 2 "Treaties...
shall be the supreme Law of the Land."
