Article “Sai v. Obama, et al: Hawaii’s Legal Case Against the United States”

Check out this good article by Jon Letman in Truthout.org “Sai v. Obama, et al: Hawaii’s Legal Case Against the United States” reviewing Keanu Sai’s legal case against the United States, with some other perspectives on the case and it’s ramifications.

  • Great article. Likes the way Jon Letman did his research and put it in the context of Sai’s larger activities. Thanks for posting it, Scott.

There is another Hawaiian subject moving the court to intervene, different argument and different prayer. This case is interesting and I suspect the court must deal with both argument if the intervention is granted. Below is the link for the other argument.

Today, Global turmoil undermines the doctrine of “might makes right.” The human spirit refuses to give in to injustice no matter how “old.” Hawaii’s long-held illegal occupation is not a popular subject and brings about extreme discomfort when trying to reconcile “the meaning of Democracy and the taking-away of Democracy.” Dr.Sai’s conclusions re Hawaii’s Occupation are well-documented. The fact is the US government now has many programs in place to mitigate the negative impact on a Nation that was “swallowed up,” left to die; a Nation forced to accept their own crumbs from their “Spoilers” who did not even go to war! The short and long-term damage done to a people that at one time was self-sufficient is unconscionable and inhumane.
To ignore the information brought to light by Dr. Sai is to “kill the message and the messenger.” The two elements which guided Hawaii’s Rulers were
“courage and strength.” Dr. Sai is to be commended for his courage and strength in continuing to push for resolution on this incredibly huge issue which can no longer be hidden and swept under the rug.
