  I would love to see the Hawaiian Patriotic League, Hui Aloha ‘Aina, resurrected on each island as it was a few years ago. The Hawaiian Patriotic League is a coming together of people for education and support of Hawaii as historically independent and sovereign to this day. It is not a Hawaiian civic club per se, or a group intent on gaining sovereignty for Hawaii. It is not an arm of any political party.

  We learn together. We strengthen ourselves together. We form the nucleus of the Hawaiian citizenry to be, as the restoration of the Hawaiian Kingdom comes about and is properly functioning. We are open to all people, although only descendants of Hawaiian subjects have the right to vote and hold office.

  When people ask, O.K., so you have a geographical presence — the Hawaiian Archipelago, You have a constitution and a procedure to insure an executive, legislative, and judicial presence, but do you have a citizenry? The Hawaiian Patriotic League will reply,”We are here, the nucleus of that citizenry. With the appropriate restoration of the government, we can then accept applications for citizenship along proper protocols.”

  Like Ken who commented above, I don’t want to have to wait till academia or some other leadership decides that we are “educated” enough to have a voice.

  It insults our intelligence and sense of dedication.

  Quotation from the PREAMBLE:
  ” Whereas vital changes in our Country have taken place, which includes the violation of its independence and the civil rights of its subjects and citizens, thereby rendering indispensable a compact and zealous union between all people who love the Hawaiian Kingdom irrespective of nationality, creed or religion.
  Therefore, by the grace of God, be it resolved, that we, the patriotic, peaceful, and loyal subjects and supporters of the Hawaiian Kingdom, for the purpose of peaceably guarding our civil rights, do hereby reform ourselves into a league under the following Constitution.”
