As an opinion the emphasis should be on “future.” Readers are well aware of the proposed outcomes listed above.
Where are the economic models for an Independent Hawai’i?
For example if and when the U.S. military withdraw in the future what will happen the thousands laid off who provide direct and ancillary services in terms of viable alternative employment?

Resistance, Honor, Desire must equal Action. End the Occupation, then we can talk about our Future. Free Hawai’i NOW.

    Aloha Ken Ng.
Mahalo for your response. Resistance, honor, desire must = Action is certainly a nobel concept. The Occupation has not ended for the last 118 years so without detracting from your ideology as a viewpoint perhaps it requires a Master Plan.

Some are currently working on demilitarization with a view toward Independence. However it is troubling if not outright problematic that you feel de-Occupation first then talk about the future. Could this partially account for a lack of capability in sparking the general public’s interest?

Only Poka Laenui appears to have addressed the Hawaiian Independence model with any degree of depth from an economic standpoint. On the military bases aspect some upon Independence are in favor of continuing to lease them out for profit which arguably is the antithesis of Aloha.

The Global Greens Charter of 2001 last is of interest as it shares much objective commonality with Kahea the local environmental organization. You can access it here: http://www.globalgreens.org/globalcharter

Let us trust some good came out of the gathering at ‘Iolani Palace this weekend leading to further assemblies and meetings incorporating ho’opono’pono in the near future. -Aloha.
