When:  September 2 , 2016, Makua Valley cultural access, hosted by Malama Makua.

Start time:  9am

End time:  1pm. Folks can leave early, but cannot enter after the Army does their safety briefing.

This is a musical celebration and commemoration of the Queen’s birthday.  We are asking folks to come and share the Queen’s songs, stories about the Queen, why she continues to be important to us in 2016, the legacy she left us.

We will serve simple ono aina mea ai.  If you wish to bring food to share, please do.

Uncle George Kahumoku Flores is bringing his wonderful display about the Queen.

We will have guest speakers.

Alu Like kupuna will be joining us.

Kaukaohu Wahilani will serenade the Queen and we will join him.  We hope there will be others.

We hope to have the aunties from the Kue Petition Continues project join us.

Access into the Valley has been severely limited, so we won’t be going very far. Likely we will walk about 1/4 mile (on rocky uneven road) to the area near the ahu for Koiahi valley, pop up some canopies and hold the gathering there. If kupuna/folks will need a ride to the ahu please let us know so we can forewarn the Army.

There will be the usual signing of liability waivers, sharing circle, brief workshop on creating puolo for hookupu, range control and uxo briefing, and entering protocol.

There is a 50 person at one time limit in the Valley, and a max of 100 people for the day.

Names (as written on photo ID) need to be turned in by Tuesday August 30. Text Justin @ 753-2408 or email: luckyilivemaili@me.com

Bring photo ID, water bottle, comfortable walking footwear (bare feet ok, but the road is rocky), hat/umbrella (sun protection), beach/folding chair.  And bring all your good wishes and good energy to honor the Queen and to restore life to the valley.  You are welcome to bring your own hookupu to honor the valley, the kupuna who remain, and the Queen.

National Day of Sovereignty

IolaniPalace-August21-2016

The 2nd Overthrow….STATEHOOD

Uncle Bumpy’s thoughts of how the program will go that day will be to use the Hawaiian church philosophy of “pule hamau” which has 3 parts to it. First part is “mihi” getting all the pilikia and eha about statehood the 2nd overthrow for Hawaiians out on the table, the part that people no like talk about like the 442nd Nisei Japanese war heroes who came back from war with a plan to make our home their home and how they went about hijacking the UN decolonization process from us, “the culture of the people’s concerned” to uplift them. We gotta get all this out no matter how it might sound, the evidence is all their to make this case.

After this the 2nd part is called “hui kala” the forgiveness, after we bash these guys we gotta turn around and let em know they are forgiven, the ones that know and participated in the suppression of our National Sovereignty stay dealing with the guilty conscious of what they did to our people and the karma has been killing them for a long time. After we forgive now we like their support for make this right.

The last part is called “ho’omaika’i”, the blessings….we will share with everyone the gift that was given to our Nation…. alohacoin.info.

No be scared of the conversations, no get huhu but we got to address the eha that is still weighing these islands down not just for Hawaiians but also the non Hawaiians who directly benefited from our suppression after STATEHOOD, we gotta set their guilty conscious free…..There were two overthrows in which the National Sovereignty of the Hawaiian People was suppressed, one on January 17th 1893 and the second on August 21st 1959.
