Comments upgraded; Sponsorships?

I have finally upgraded the HaloScan commenting service to a premium account, which expands the comment limit from 3,000 characters to 10,000, so you won't get truncated. Hopefully, you can all say what you need to in less than 10K characters! It was actually only $12 for a year, and for some reason I thought it was more or I would have done it earlier. Oh well. But even though it is a small amount, anyone interesting in sponsoring the upgrade, in exchange for a link or whatever? If so, you can use the PayPal "Make a Donation" button on the right.

And speaking of sponsorships, I've been thinking about how to generate a bit of revenue to provide some support for my efforts maintaining this blog. While I certainly don't expect to get rich, I could more easily justify to myself (and my wife) spending the time to keep it updated regularly if it can generate a little support.

I've started out by adding a small Google ad to test things out, as you can see on the right, so you can support by clicking the ad now and then, and the links are at least somewhat relevant to Hawaii, so you might find something useful there anyway.

But I would love to find a sponsor or two to buy ad space directly. Ideally, I would like it to be one of you, readers - someone who supports independence and would like to support my educational efforts with this blog, in exchange for having some targeted exposure for your website. Anyone out there selling Hawaiian products, food, music, clothing, travel, vacations or whatevahs? If so, email me and we can discuss details.

Of course anyone who wants to support this blog just for the heck of it can use the PayPal donation button, too. Mahalo.
