Aloha kakou:

The army is moving ahead with its plans to expand military training in Hawaii by an additional 28,000 acres and more equipment and personnel. The public has overwhelmingly rejected the plan, citing health, environmental, legal, political, and moral concerns for the project. Politicians are pushing forward with the plan, in spite of broad opposition. We're amplifying the people's voices, by compiling and organizing the 800-plus pages of public testimony into a 'Community Impact Statement,' which we will submit on July 6, the last date for public comment on the environmental impact statement. The CIS will go above and beyond the flawed EIS, to clarify and enunciate the concerns which our community has vocalized. Please join us in this dramatic opportunity to have our voices heard. We will meet at `Iolani Palace Ahu at 11 am on Tuesday, and march to the federal building to present our Community Impact Statement. Please join us.

Aloha `Aina,
Ikaika
221-2843 (cell)

P.S. Please let me know if you're planning on attending, so we can anticipate a head count. Mahalo.

The people have stated their opposition to the Stryker Brigade!

Join us in presenting our final answer – no Strykers, and clean up, not build up! – to policymakers. We will be marching from Iolani Palace Ahu to the Federal Building to present a Community Impact Statement, which is drawn together from the voices of the people who gave testimony on the proposed land grab and military expansion in Hawai`i nei.

Make our voices heard! Aloha `aina mau a mau!
