ALOHA KAKOU, The PA'I Foundation and Hale Ku‘ai Cooperative are calling ALL NATIVE HAWAIIAN ARTISANS, IN ALL MEDIUMS, traditional and contemporary styles, on all islands!! PLEASE TAKE THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN ARTIST SURVEY ON-LINE, IF POSSIBLE BY JUNE 30 2006!!! YOU WILL ONLY NEED ABOUT 15 MINUTES to complete the survey but your opinions will have an impact on programs for years to come! Your answers and opinions will provide information to help shape public and private programs, and many other cultural arts related projects on all islands. CLICK HERE TO TAKE THE SURVEY RIGHT NOW http://www.paifoundation.org continued in the extended entry... The, and the PA'I Foundation and the Hale Ku‘ai Cooperative are sponsoring the Native Hawaiian Cultural Trademark Study, compiling (in a report) the artist's responses, and would like more participation to ensure that the broadest range of ideas and opinions from the Native Hawaiian artist community are expressed before the next phase of the process begins. We know that taking a survey may seem humbug, maybe a waste of time. Some have said they don't like how the questions are worded, and others have commented that the answers don't always fit. However, we are still asking artisans to make the effort to take the survey. The survey is about Hawaiians trying to help Hawaiians--specifically artisans---to get the support they need based upon their direct input. A portion of the questions are about a Native Hawaiian Cultural Trademark, but the survey is about how you learned your craft, what your goals are, can you make a living at your art, and if not, why? The study asks what kind of assistance you need? The long term goal is to implement processes and programs to aid in the support, perpetuation and promotion of native Hawaiian art and artisans. We also have the ability to provide any artisan with a hard copy version of the study if they do not have access to a computer with a connection to the world wide web.We are also easy to contact via e-mail or phone, and will assist you in any way to submit your mana'o! Remember you can also head to your nearest local library and log-on to the internet and take the survey!!!
