Pretender to the throne has wide-ranging Web site
The April 28 letter by one His Majesty Akahi Nui prompted me to do a little research into the Hawaiian sovereignty movement. I found his very own Web site, www.freehawaii.org.
I was very curious to learn why the Web site of a wannabe despot who wants to control all land transactions would have the word "free" in it so I clicked on the link. My computer screen was assaulted by one of the worst Web sites ever made: crummy layout, stories about government conspiracies, police coverups and even a thwarted plot by the evil Israelis to assassinate Akahi Nui!
Even more disturbing than these paranoid rants is the single sentence, "Surrendering to the police is a hanging offense in Hawaii." I guess that means you can commit whatever crimes you want, just don't get arrested or Akahi Nui will have you hanged.
The only thing missing from this Web site is UFO abductions.

To Akahi Nui, "claimant" to the crown of Hawaii (Letters, April 28), if you really are the king of Hawaii, that's cool and I would like to hear more about it. If you really aren't then don't waste the newspaper's space.
I really enjoy reading the letters and hearing the voices of all the different people who care enough to write in a public forum. Please don't turn this forum into a joke.
